Alone in Santa Barbara

Alone in Santa Barbara
10×8″ oil on panel

On this day, in July, I found myself painting alone. Having set myself away from the maddening crowds, I was not bothered, and I had much, too much, fun. I chose a simple view, found my values, and created my composition, which isn’t all that easy with a moving target.
Can’t believe all the colors that were popping up to greet me. What a delight!

I think we have the most beautiful coastline in the world.
