Blooming WP

15×22″ charcoal on Rives

This is the fourth in The Shadow Series. It was captured from a Japanese Magnolia in my front yard. Every spring I look forward to the blooms bursting open. They do not last long, but it puts a smile on my face every time I turn into the driveway.

My children grew up climbing in this tree. I love the unique shape of the branches. There is one in particular that they would climb to and sit and watch the activity of the neighborhood, while hidden in the leaves. It brings back fond memories to see this image.
